CHRCE is a non-political, non partisan and non-profit making membership organization found in 1996 and registered as an NGO in Kenya under the 1990 NGO Coordination Act since 2005. CHRCE is dedicated to improving enjoyment of Human Rights and rooting for Democratic Governance among the people Eastern Region of Kenya. Following 15 years of successfully working with communities, civil society and government agencies, CHRCE has developed a reputation as a credible, professional and effective organization.
CHRCE has long term relationship with funding agencies and has enlisted recognition by CSOs and was awarded 1st Runners up overall winner in Civil Society of the Year Award (CSOYA 2008) as well as Overall Winner (CSOYA 2008) under Governance and Management Category.
After participating in 2010 National Conference on Non State Actor’s Role In Decentralized Financing in Kenya organized by Institute of Economic Affairs and Funded by DIAKONIA, CHRCE receive an Award of Appreciation of the Most Exemplary Work.
