Emerging Issues Fund
This Fund that has since been replaced by the Quick Response Fund. It was aimed at enabling civil society organizations to respond to rapidly emerging issues in the democratic governance sector that may not have been expected. The specific emerging issue was determined by Amkeni Wakenya’s Stakeholder Reference Group (SRG).
The first call for proposals was made in August 2008 with a focus Healing and Reconciliation following the post election violence. While over 700 Civil society Organizations responded applied or funding under this component, only 40 were successful.
